2.0 Kinds of Funny
Constance Gallery, Graceland University, Lamoni, Iowa
co-curated by Holli Friley, Matt Lynch, and Jenny Ustick
February 2 - March 13, 2026

2.0 Kinds of Funny, a traveling group exhibition which offers the delicate, often absurd balance between humor and tragedy in art at The Helene Center for the Visual Arts’ Constance Gallery. Described as an examination of the standard formula: Tragedy + Time = Comedy, by employing humor as both a truth serum and a survival mechanism, the 42 participating artists present a showcase of human experience that is simultaneously critical and entertaining.

Special thanks to Karen Gergely, Associate Professor of Art at Graceland University and to her colleagues and students for their support of this exhibition and installing it in the Constance Gallery.
